Cristiano Ronaldo , grew up with an older brother - Hugo Aveiro (born 1975), and two older sisters - Elma (b. 1974) and Liliana Cátia (b. Madeira to 5 October 1976).
Liliana Cátia works as a singer under the stage name "Ronalda" in Portugal,is married with José Pereira and is the mother of Rodrigo. His second name ("Ronaldo") is relatively rare in Portugal.
The name Ronaldo, unusual in Portugal is a tribute to former United States President Ronald Reagan.
In 1995, with only 10 years old, Cristiano Ronaldo saw his reputation grow in Portugal. The top two teams in Madeira - CS Marítimo and CD Nacional were interested in signing him but Ronaldo signed for Nacional.
In 1995 Cristiano Ronaldo entered in the youth of Sporting Lisbon team with great tradition, where he played in the categories Under-16, Under-17, Under-18.
At Sporting, caught the attention of Manchester United coach Sir Alex Ferguson. He was hired by the English team to replace David Beckham, who had been signed by Real Madrid.
In 2008 Cristiano Ronaldo was signed by Real Madrdid. Was the more expensive club hiring, EUR 90 million, which had other prominent global players like Kaka, Zidane, Ronaldo and Roberto Carlos, who were part of the first phase of the great stars of the team Known in Spain as the Galacticos.
In 2011, he reached the mark of 53 goals, a figure never reached before in the club.
Cristiano Ronaldo is considered a sex symbol and has made the cover of magazines with wide circulation in the world. It is the poster boy for Nike and Armani, among other brands. It is the most popular sportsman in social networks, especially on Facebook.
